Re: Gsp Help I have a beautiful GSP named Addie, she had no problems with her health until......Trifexis! Then the itching, lethargy, sensitive to cold and heat came along. The most prominent being the itching. We knew the siblings of the litter and couldn't figure out why our dog had such horrible itching problems and their dogs didn't. After many vet bills, cortisone shots, pills and watching my dog chew herself to bloody patches, I decided to take things into my own hands and get on the internet to see what I could do to aggressively do something about it. First I tried grain free food, didn't really work. Benadryl helped but I had to give her 6 tabs a day and she was always in a zone. I put her on EVO herring and salmon kibble and she seemed to be doing better but still itching........then one day I looked at the calendar and it was time to give her the trifexis pill. Wow! I asked myself that must be it. I called the other two dogs owners and asked if they were giving their dog the medication and they weren't!I didn't give Addie her next dose....guess what the itching stopped! Her energy is back and all her hair grew back. Yes that leaves her open to heartworm but I would rather take that risk then have her and us be miserable for the rest of our lives. That's my story and if I can prevent it happening to other GSP's from going through this, I will be happy. Hope this helps you and best of luck!
