Been a long time, I have been rolling around the country in an 18 wheeler for the past couple years. Hope you are all doing well.

The dobie is my new brat. His name is lewis and he has been rolling with me since he was 10 weeks. He is about a year and a half now.

Good to see you kicking around Jason and I appreciate the email. Lewis is a GREAT looking Dobe! Big puds! I had 2 growing up and they were all bark and no bite. Made the meter reader chit himself a few times though! ;-) |

| My husbands best friend had a Dobe that he pheasant hunted with! It was "before my time" so I never got to meet the dog but he has some great stories about it. |

Nice looking Dobe. I always liked them but my Aunt had one that bit me. I have been a bit leary since then. I was only 12. I don't know Tucker's story but he is a great looking boy. |

TUCKERS STORY:
for some of you you don't know it here goes, It all started with Hurricane Katrina. My husband who is a Federal Agent was told to pack it up & get ready to go to Louisiana to help. Being a volunteer for anything person, I wanted to help to. I had always gone on Lisa's web site , WGSPR, looking at the dogs & when she put out a plea for help to foster dogs from the hurricane I called her & volunteered. Well they couldn't get any dogs transported that far north., so I didn't get any. Then in November of that year she calls me I & said " would you like to take a 10 year old boy. He has been at the shelter for 2 months & is getting ready to be put down. Nobody wants an old dog. I was his last chance. I really hadn't thought of wanting one either but I said OK. Then we had to figure out how to get him here. It took 2-3 weeks & a lot of help from this board to finally get a plan. We had to be in Minneapolis on Dec. 5 for meetings. Lisa got him a ride from Milwaukee to Minneapolis but then we couldn't get him for 4 days. That's when Jason read our post & voleentered to keep him until we could pick him up. That's how Tucker came to live with us!! The people on this board are like family & we could not have made it happen without them. Tucker is the most wonderful old man ever!! I can't imagine not having him ! It took almost a year for him to get over some past things in his life that were not good, but now he is just a old spoiled man!!
ps- Ruger still doesn't really like him, but leaves him alone. |

That's one great story. Tucker is a lucky guy to find such a loving home People on this board are the greatest. I applaud all of you who do rescue work & take fosters into your homes. |

So, does this mean you are out of the GSP business for awhile? I don't see any in your picutures. Alice--I can't believe you've had Tucker this long. That's really a testament for adopting a senior citizen!!! BTW--do you have a name for those silly ears? Both my dogs do that (we call them "ding dong ears") with their ears--it's sooo funny. Do all GSPs do that? |

Alice, tears of happiness streamed down my face when reading Tucker's adoption story. So happy Jason could keep him 4 days till you could drive to the Cities. Tucker, Ranger, Rocky and sweet Bean all rescue GSP in great spectacular Forever Homes. Something to be thankful for and warm your heart!!! Love Tuckers bed with tennis ball lying on it. A friend of mine came over and I shared Tuckers great picture with her and her reaction" And he still loves that tennis ball at that age!!!! Oh no we have alot of years of tossing tennis balls to Rocky as he is only 6yrs old. |

Ole Tuck still loves to chase the tennis ball. He can't hear very good & he sleeps a lot but when its nice out he loves to run around outside. I can't believe he will be 14 this year!He gets a Senior vitamin, 2 glucosamines & 2 Flax seed & Borage oil pills a day. He still has the shiniest coat! Here he was this summer doing his favorite thing, STEALING APPLES OFF THE TREE!!! |
